Hot Headed Hector
Lyrics by Jesse Lapin
Hector was an angry boy from the Southern USA His daddy was a violent man, and his mom had run away He felt alone And he was cruel He thought love was just another lie that they taught the kids at school
So he got on a bus when he was 17 Headed out to LA, looking for a scene He taught himself how to play guitar, and man that boy could sing Started writing songs that would set the world aflame
And he met a roly poly crew who wore tailored suits and twirled ivory canes They were aristocratic and kind of strange but they sunk into a solid groove And they were, Hot Headed Hector and the Fancy Hedgehogs Even though they’re gone, the legend lives on
Oh what a shame, he thought maybe with fame He could find love and finally things would change But the hurt was deep down inside And many years would pass him by before Hector understood That nothing would keep him satisfied
And then one night they were playing a gig on a dying world full of alien kids It was the best damn show they ever had, and even Hector didn’t feel so bad So he turned to his spiny band who were drinking champagne and making alien friends He said, I don’t know why, but I feel like this is the end of the line
And the hedgehogs spoke for the very first time They said, we love you man, thanks for the ride And wherever you go, we know you’re going to put on a hell of a show
